Serving Paralegals For More Than 30 Years

About NIPA

  • NIPA is an affiliate member of the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) as part of NFPA's Region III
  • NIPA began in 1986 and was incorporated in 1995 as the Northeast Indiana Paralegal Association, Inc. serving paralegals in the Fort Wayne area and surroundings counties
  • NIPA was originally a satellite chapter of the Indiana Paralegal Association (IPA) based in Indianapolis.
  • Today NIPA works along with IPA and the Michiana Paralegal Association (MPA) to serve paralegals throughout the state of Indiana. Together, IPA, NIPA, and MPA form the Indiana Paralegal Alliance
  •  NIPA was organized to promote individual paralegal growth through education, networking opportunities and its job bank.  NIPA also promotes the paralegal profession to the public and the legal community
  •  NIPA fulfills its mission through its Board of Directors. Member paralegals serve as officers and directors of NIPA's committees to provide membership benefits such as monthly luncheon speakers and NIPA's newsletter
  • A NIPA member is elected to represent the membership at the Annual Convention of NFPA each year

About NFPA

  • Established in 1974, the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) was the first professional association for paralegals in the United States
  • NFPA serves its members by monitoring legislation, case law, and ethical opinions that affect members of the paralegal profession. NFPA keeps members informed through its website and The National Paralegal Reporter, a quarterly magazine distributed to all members of affiliate organizations, including NIPA
  • NFPA also offers educational opportunities through CLE and provides the PCC and PACE credentialing exams
